I was earning well every month, and still going broke by the middle of it. The money just disappeared and I could not tell you where. So I did the obvious thing and started an expense sheet in Google Docs, logging everything by hand.

It worked for a couple of months, then it broke down. Not the math, the habit. To add an expense I had to open a spreadsheet in a browser, which was just enough friction that I would forget, skip transactions, and end up with my bank statement trying to tally what I had missed. A tracker you have to fight is not a tracker, it is a chore you eventually drop.

So I built Evergreen to be the opposite. An app that lives on my phone, where logging takes a second and everything is calculated the moment I enter it. No spreadsheets, no reconciling, no missed transactions. And because it is my money data, it is private by design: it installs like a native app, locks behind a PIN and Face Lock, and nothing leaves the phone.

It does not just store the numbers, it shows me what I could not see before, where the money actually goes and my biggest spends each month, so I know exactly what to rein in next. For the first time I have real control over my money, and that was the whole point.
